Well I just made the drive home for thanksgiving and I encountered CO Ka 6 times. It was all FHP on the turnpike. Everyone was a save but the range was terrible for constant on. Every alert came from .5 - 1 mile away. Is there something wrong with my RD or are they all using some superhard to detect frequency (35.5?) or maybe lower powered units?
Each encounter was the same. It started out at like half alert and then almost immediately to full strength two seconds later. One was stationary facing me, but he was off axis (about 30 degrees off parallel. Pretty smart on his part, even though it shaves some speed off his reading. It was around a curve too, so on a approach he was about 60 degrees until the last .25 mile. This alert was about .5 miles away. All the rest were rolling constant on coming towards me... a couple over a hill and a couple on the open road.
Any ideas? My X50 used to do much better than this, and I feel like this 9500i had done better in the past, but I havent made a road trip in like 6 months. It has the rampup fix BTW.
