Hey guys, I just joined the forum because I had a specific question and after doing some searching this sounds like one of the best places to get info. I've had my Escort 8500 X50 for 3 years now and it has consistently saved my butt on long drives/commutes. I've swapped cars several times (company cars) so never hardwired it. I just got my own ride that I'll keep for awhile so it's time to wire here up next to the rear view. I bought some 10 dollar kit from best buy that says it works with Escort models. I bought a fuse tap and found a good ground, but there's one thing worrying me. On the package of the cheap kit it says to install the tip of the plug with either positive polarity or negative polarity depending on what your detector's owners manual says? I can't seem to find it since I've moved so many times since my purchase of the X50. Should I install this thing with positive polarity or negative? Sorry for the long first post, and thanks in advance. Great forum!
