    Default I think I got a bad 9500ix..

Can anyone who has compared the STI to the 9500ix tell me how close the 9500ix performance is on k and KA to the STI. I saw the GOL test and they looked very close in performance. Reason I ask is I think I got a bad 9500ix based on the performance thus far. I have downloaded latest firmware and done a factory reset and the 9500ix still performs very poorly.

When I say poorly, I had an encounter with 34.7 constant on with me rolling north, he coming south on flat road .. I counted 8 seconds that the STI alerted before the 9500ix began alerting. I was rolling at about 60 so thats about a 700 feet differance.
The whole encounter was about 20 seconds of alert from the STI and only about 12 seconds for the 9500ix. Another encounter the LEO was in the middle of the median, shooting away from me and the STI gave 4 ka chirps, the 9500ix remained quiet the whole time...

Anyone else have these results? I feel I got a bad unit and would like input before I swap it out. Thanks.

I would find a constant K band or Ka band source and try each detector individually and see how they alerted. It might be possible that running the 2 together is causing some of your problems.

Good point, I did that before testing the V1 and the STI and found no evidence of cross talk. I will do that determine if the STI is the cause of the poor performance of the 9500ix. Now only to find a good KA drone lol

Yea, K is easy, Ka is tougher. Here they have a Ka speed sign at one of the local school zones.

Ok now its looking like we have a real issue here. The 9500ix audio is all jacked up. I have it programmed to spec meter, auto mute off, but when i get any radar source I get 2 beeps and it goes silent, and the smartplug light coutinues to flash with the freq on display until the signal is gone. (its like it is stuck in auto mute mode.) I did a factory reset and left it at factory specs, all but changing auto mute to no and its still doing it. Im thinking its a bad unit forsure now. This is annoying, I got this urge to throw it out the window and then the no no no u spent 500 + bucks on that POS kicked in.

Doesn't it also silence if the vehicle is traveling at less than 15 or 20 MPH? Try turning GPS off and see what happens.

I believe auto mode ignores x and k below 15-20, but my issue is in highway mode, gps on or off..

I think I would be sending it back then if it's doing it in highway with GPS off.

xi does it in any mode. the i only does it in A mode.

I have tested the 9500 and it definitely suppresses excessively while running another RD with it.
