Default Speed Trap Reporting for the 9500ix

    Greetings,

I had a 9500i that I recently had upgraded by Escort to the 9500ix.

Part of the upgrade was access to the downloadable speed trap database.

I am wondering, and have not been able to find any information from searches, is if there is a way to report speed trap locations to Escort on the web or otherwise. Again my searches turn up nothing, and the guy at customer service I talked to seemed clueless.

    Anyone have an idea?

    Jeff

Speed Traps are your own ... you mark the locations yourself. It may or may not be possible to share that info with other users, but that's another topic.

Escort, via the Trinity Database, provides downloadable database updates containing fixed position Speed Cameras and Red Light Cameras ... I don't think and would hope there are not any "Speed Traps" contained in that database.

Speed Traps are too subjective ... and I would hope Escort and Trinity will keep the database focused on 100% actual threats only.

If you have a RLC or Speed Camera that is not alerting or a false location, you can pm allyoops on this forum or email al@gpsdetector.com and he will check into it. From what I can tell he keeps the database meticulously maintained.
