    Default Hardwire question.

I have received the hardwire kit for my 9500ix but I don't know what else I need to hardwire it. When I went to radioshack they had no idea how to help me. Can one of you all list to me everything I need to hardwire my Escort into a 95 Nissan Altima?
    Thanks, Clay.

Clay this is from the How to section from Jarus. Same principles for any detector. By the Radio Shack is useless.

i got my add a circuit at a napa parts store...you can also find them at autozone or any other parts store...you then attach the splice that comes with the hardwire kit to the add a circuit taht way you dont have to worry about voiding your cars warranty by splicing into the factory wiring

I could be wrong on this since its been a while since I hardwired my Escort....but doesnt the kit include everything? Or did you need to buy buttsplices or something?

(I hate the clamp connectors...in fact I'm going to remove them from my V1 hardwire soon. They make ****ty connection compared to a clamped buttsplice)

Typically is does include what you need if you tap into an existing wire. But many people do not know how to find or want to find a switched lead, so an add a fuse makes it easier. As for the T connector, I have used them for years and never had an issue with the connection.

how hard is it to fine a switch power wire and ground? the add a fuse is ridiculous when both hardwires come with in-line fuses.

Depending on the car and the experience of the person, harder than you think.

also tapping into your vehicles wiring like that voids your cars warranty..by using the add a circuit you can do it without worrying about voiding the warranty of your vehicle
