Default Sold the 9500i for almost $400

Well, I no longer own an Escort.
I sold my blue 9500i on eBay for almost $400. Not bad, I would've liked to get more since it was mint...but I'm satisfied. That'll pay off what I owed for the V1.

I'll keep my eyes out for Escorts "next best thing"...as I'm sure its not far away!
After all, I'm still hardwired for one! The smart hardwire shown below is now buried behind the dash, and my V1 concealed display is mounted in its place. I figured it was worth leaving it installed so I can switch over to an Escort any time if I want to without going through re-running wires.

Most of all I'll miss the blue LED, Speed Display, and the noticable difference in tone between K and KA band!

I never understood why they have a 'SpeedDisplay.' That's what a speedometer is for - isn't it?

Well, I hope you're happy, it must have been hard getting 'rid of it. If VR just dies off, and Escort keeps making better and better RD's, I'll take a RED 9500ix with arrows.

Why not have a speedo when it doesn't add cost to the device?
how can it be useful? well .. its gps speed so it is more accurate then alot of cars I've noticed.. esp if you have larger RIMS

OP so why did you get rid of your 9500?

For one thing, the speed alert is great. When you get hit with an alert it blinks the speed you were hit at.

That would fall under the category of Features My Radar Detector Has That I Don't Use, right next to the Voice Alerts.

The speed setting is a pilot mode right? Say for instance you are running in Spec mode does the display shift?

I dunno. I don't recall. I used expert mode, and had MPH visible all the time.
I did hate voice alerts too though. They were cool and neato when I first got it. Then I realized how ANNOYING they were.
