    Default 3 year database subscription

Can someone tell me what I get with the 3 year database subscription for the 9500ix that costs $4.95 shipping? I went to purchase the $29.95 plan and it tried to tack on $4.95 shipping. All I want is the download code so I can continue downloading updates. I did a live chat and the guy said they ship an "entire package," which basically sounded like a card with a subscription number on it. That should cost 42 cents or whatever a stamp costs these days. Anyone who has purchased the plan separately from the detector, what was shipped to you worth $4.95 shipping? Thanks.

I already have all that. I just want the database subscription but I don't see why I should have to pay $4.95 shipping for something they could send me in email. Its not the money its that they are blatantly advertising $29.95 and then tacking on $4.95 to that which really rubs me the wrong way. Just put the price at $34.90 and cut the BS.

Welcome to the real world! Shipping is always separate from the product, no matter what you're buying on the internet unless otherwise stated. In addition, they have to pay the person that gets it ready, and ships the thing. Maybe you could drive to their location and get it in person and save the shipping costs.

Not true; with Gold Package you get 3 years extended service plan (2 additional yrs only) and 3 year data plan for $49.95. That's it. The USB and adapter are extra.

Well I ordered my gold package with my 9500ix from Escort so the shipping wasn't extra... and right now it appears if you buy RD from them shipping is free... it costed me $13 two months ago.

Thanks for the lesson on the real world.

Of course shipping is separate from the product -- when there actually is a product to ship. I'm buying a subscription code to download database updates. There is no "product" involved, other than a card with a number on it apparently. So I want to know why that costs $4.95

Have tried to call them? The code is only few numbers... perhaps they'd give it to you over the phone... maybe not....
