Default USB cable type for 9500ix

I know the Escort site says USB A to Mini, but there seems to be 4 pin Mini connectors, 5 pin Mini connectors, etc. Anyone know which one this one is?

Didn't know they had pins. It is the type used to connect digital cameras or cell phones to your computer.

^ sounds like normal 4-pin mini USB.

What can you do with the 9500ix hooked up to the computer? Any reprogramming open for the user?

You update the software so you don't have to send it back in to Escort. Also, you can download an updated redlight/speed camera database.

Just as an FYI, Escort Cust. Support said they didn't know about pins, but it was just a cable like those used with digital cameras.

Don't concern yourself with pins. Just look at your unit. If it's mini it's 5 pin. If it's not mini then it's A/B 4 pin. You can find them here

BTW - if it's mini then you can use any mini cord, even one you might already own. They are all built and wired the same way.

I just happened to use the cable that came with my Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS (standard Mini USB cable) and it worked. This is with a 9500i, but meh, same thing more or less minus a few snazzy features.

Also, you can back up your personal data over the USB (your locations you have locked out). I did this while I was updating today, actually. Might as well.
