8500 X50 Needs new LED display Where?

I have a red 8500 X50 that has a dead display. Seems to work just fine otherwise. So where can a display be purchased? Or anyone have any suggestions?

This may seem silly, but have you tried hitting the "dim" button a couple times?

The X50 has a "full dark" mode where there is no display at all.

If not... the only thing to do is go in for repair right to Escort.

I honestly can't remember if I tried checking that or not...I would think I did but I will double check it. But I am pretty sure the display is done. It got damp when I got caught in the rain and worked for a bit then went blank but who knows. I figured leds and other parts can be bought for almost anything...why not a detector. Any other suggestions??? I have a hard time believing the displays are not available anywhere, but I may be SOL.

The problem is, IIRC, the display is made up of two banks of LED displays, soldered to a board.

If they have both failed, at the same time, it is more likely that the processor that sends them instructions on what LED's to light and when to light them, is done.
