Hello everyone. I upgraded from my x50 to a 9500i over the summer last year. Yesterday, I got my first ticket in my 6+ years of driving. I was doing about 80, and I had a rabbit far in front of me, but he was getting away so I was trying to catch up with him a little. All of the sudden I see flashing lights in my rear view - no warning whatsoever from the Escort. The trooper said he first shot my rabbit with IO and then shot me, but went after me because I was second in line and was going faster than the rabbit. He radared me at 84 then paced me at 80 (ouch... that one made me feel really dumb, and any chance of fighting the ticket went out the window ><) then wrote me for 80 in a 65. He was expertly hiding behind the guard rail on an inclining entrance ramp, and I never saw him on my approach.
Anyway, why did my 9500i fail me? It's mounted high and level, to the right of my rearview mirror. It has been alerting to constant on K, KA and X normally the last few weeks as far as I can tell. Would I be better off with a V1 or X50 for picking up IO blasts both in front of or behind me (as my 9500i picked up neither)? I'd hate to loose the serenity the 9500i provides but this might convince me to change back.
Thanks for any input or opinions - this is going to be a tough decision for me.
