    Default Passport 8500

    Quick question please....

the Passport 8500, I wanted to know what kind of cord it takes to power up? Looking at the small picture from the manufacturer's web site, it appears to be either like an ethernet cord or a telephone cord...

Can someone tell me what kind of cord it is so I can figure out if I will need to purchase the one Escort or if I can get one from a local store...I don't want to wait for shipping!

    Thanks!!!

Cool! Great! Thank you! Thank you!

I still don't want to wait for FedEx... Any idea where I might be able to get this wire?

You just need to buy 2 telephone jack's and 1m of telephone cord ( 4 wire ).

I bought a replacement at Best Buy once. You typically have to ask a salesman though as I don't believe they have the cords on the floor.

They might only have cords for the X50 now though. I'm not sure. Can the X50 cords work for the original 8500? I had both at one time but never tried it.

    Spriegums,

thanks for the pixs! one last question...if I wanted to hard wire the radar, should I buy 1 phone jack, 1m phone wire and splice the other end of the wire to go directly to my battery? if not, do you have pictures of that also? if you dont mind posting the picture also would be great!

thanks! I really need to install my 8500...i was on the freeway today doing about 95 on a 65 (or even 55 I dont know it...I never go the speed limit) coming to a turn then suddenly seen CHP on the side of the road... good thing my brakes were recently changed and its even more responsive now....
