My 9500ix came back last week since the speaker was messed up, paper reads they recaliberated it and tested all the bands on my way out of my house i picked up 34.7 and it picks it up alot better around the curve seems more sensitive than before ussually i got the Ka at the curve, the only bad thing was the bottom came back a little scratched around the serial sticker i sent it in the carrying case.
The wait is killing me, i need my new upgraded 9500ix...
My 8500 is doing a great job and has been fairly impressive with its sensitivity but I miss the quiet and the pleasant female voice alerts.
I'm hoping i will get it early next week.
I got my 3yr database subscription but it was from Beltronics, seems odd because Escort had the database first.
Also was just looking on Escorts sight and i didn't see this before:
Laser Detection
Quantum Limited Video Receiver
Multiple Laser Sensor Diodes
If I recall it didn't state Multiple Laser Sensor Diodes before???

I think that multiple means two -- one for the front and one for the rear laser light pipe -- which is the way it has always been.
Multiple sounds better.
That is a very interesting observation. I, and probably everyone else, assumed that AutoVolume adjusted the alert volume based on noise within the passenger cabin as described in the user manual. That never did work no matter how many times I tried it. It seems that the built-in microphone doesn't work very well at measuring noise levels within a car's interior. Perhaps Escort's engineers decided to redesign AutoVolume via firmware code to adjust the alert volume based on vehicle speed? If so, then its neat that they didn't give up on AutoVolume and may have found a way to usefully implement this feature.
