Default I really like my 9500ix

My Escort Passport 9500ix has been installed only since March 12. Yet, in that short time, one of its features have proven to make the price of the unit palatable. It is Autolearn.

The many false alarms that I used to get in city driving with previous owned detectors no longer set off jarring audio warnings. Instead, now a single beep is sounds along with a visual "Stored" is displayed by the detector.

To me, this feature alone validates my upgrading to the 9500ix detector.

In accordance with the manufacturer recommendation, I placed the detector with its suction cups adjacent to and just left of the rear view mirror. The hard wire was hidden except for a few inches coming from the top of the header butted to the windshield. I had two problems with this arrangement.

Most importantly, its placement was too close for my eyes to gain immediate and proper focus. Second, I found the placement distracting.

I moved the detector to the top center position of the dash. The hard wire is now hidden running under the header butted the windshield.

I have not found any loss of radar or laser signals discernible by moving the unit from its adjacency to the rear view mirror to the top of the dashboard.

As each day passes, my estimation of this Escort model's value increases. It is indeed a real value enhancing my driving pleasure.

Nice choice in the RD. I certainly don't regret getting mine.

No doubt it's an awesome detector ... best I've ever owned, hands down. When mine alerts on my daily commute it gets my full attention cuz I know something's up other than a K door opener 6 miles away.

    X2.

I’m very happy with my upgrade to the ix. Nothing really compares to it.

It depends on what you deem performance. The V1 is the most sensitive RD with the useful arrows. But the ix list of benefits are way too long to list and its almost as sensitive as the V1.
That’s why nothing compares to it really, similar to the V1, nothing really compares to it ether.

It’s not really fair to try and compare the V1 or ix to each other, they are 2 totally different RD's and most cases a lover of one won’t like the other.
