Looks gimicky. There's no way a GPS that small is usable. And every time you used it you'd bump the rear view a little to the right.

I use the GPS on my 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" cell pone screen and it works great! Just strap that puppy to my mirror and I got the same thing.

My hopes is the ability to have it hook up to my 9500ix to unleash new features some day.

x2 for that kind of money you can get a high end nav system that does more.
    If it was 300ish maybe..

    Yeah, it's pretty expensive.

I purchased a Kenwood in-dash and the garmin navigation module for this for 800$.. both were refurbished but they were practically new.

It would be nice if this integrated with their RD/Laser products, i.e., the ultimate 9500ci, where it could display the alerts on the screen.

    Nah
    1) Putting everything on the mirror so everyone behind you (Mr. LEO) can see it is bad JUJU.
    2) Having a touch screen on a rearview mirror is stupid. Unless you do it VERY GENTLY you will be constantly readjusting the mirror.
    3) if you have enough $$$ to buy an $800.00 mirror you just have more dollars than sense.
    4) There are already some really nice GPS units on the market that do so much more for less than half the price.
    5) the portable units can be moved to any vehicle while the $800.00 unit sits in your car waiting to be stolen. Or laughed at . U pick.
    6) you can take the poratble unit into your house and hook it up to your computer for software updates.
