General question: about Escort 8500 X50 Blue

I purchased my unit in September of 2004.

I am at work, so I cannot check right now, but does anyone have an idea of what Version number my unit is?

also, is there any performance difference between version 4 and version 5?

You can see the rev number by holding the mute city and dim buttons when you turn it on, but be carefull because it resets the unit. Theres no other way to do it. From what i heard these software updates are more helping the filtering than the performance side too, ill wait for some tests when the new rev will be coming out. :wink:

Just understand that when you check the rev. number, you'll be deleting all your presets, so go into program mode and write down each setting you want to get back.

Any help in filtering out falses would sure be good with them.

I'd like them to fix the problems that some are having with getting laser falses when blowing the horn or doing other mundane things that sets it off. Mine has lasered on remote start and last night it lasered when I unlocked the doors while sitting in the driver's seat.

It just clears the saved settings you have. You will have to set them again after you check the firmware version.
