Default Revised installation of my 9500ci's display and control modules...

    Hi everyone,

Originally I mounted my 9500ci's controller module a bit below the driver's side left air vent, and I had my 9500ci's blue display mounted just above my car's instrument cluster:

Later I converted my 9500ci's blue display to a red display, repositioned it in front of the instrument cluster's clear plastic cover, and installed the remote power/alert LED into the instrument cluster:

Well, this setup was fine and dandy. Yet there were a few things which I didn't like about this setup. First, the control module was readily visible just under the leftmost air conditioner vent to anyone (such as an officer) standing next to my car. I decided to move my 9500ci's control module to a location next to my car stereo. Second, I wanted an even more concealed location for my 9500ci's display without having to hack a slot in my car's instrument cluster. After due consideration, I decided to remove my car's built-in dash clock and install the 9500ci's display behind its orange tinted display cover. Well, the following photos show the results! You can click on the following photos to view a larger version of each photo.

Here are twilight and night photos of the relocated 9500ci control module:

Well, what do you all think? The only issue which I have noticed is that the display dims too soon during approaching twilight. This is due to the orange clock display cover creating additional light blockage for the display's IC photocell. I considered removing the 9500ci display's red (originally blue) display cover to prevent this, but one of my other goals was to make the display even dimmer at night so that basically only I could easily see it.

Very nice install MEM-TEK. Very stealthy, should be hard for anyone to see that. I wish Escort would make their remote displays for the X50 thinner and with some better way to mount them.

Nothing. Just that, if I did it, somehow I would screw up and my instrument cluster would look like rats chewed into it.

Is the clock mounted front and center of you, the driver? Or is it mounted in the center of the dash?

I liked where it was in the instrument cluster, but if this setup works better for you then you can't beat it! Also, I like where the new spot for the control module is.
