9500ci Installation Questions

This is regarding its Radar Antenna.

Can you mount this inside the grill or low as possible inside the bumper and still get a good signal?

How is the sensitivity compared to the v1 which is mounted high.

I'm in the market for a RD and laser jammer and I found out that the 9500ci comes with the ZR4 I thought that you are only getting the RD it self.

No. The radar antenna must have a clear look at the road to work properly. My 9500ci Ka band sensitivity sucked here:

My 9500ci beats my V1 the vast majority of the time.

The ZR4s are not very good, but work pretty well if you add Veil. Here are my ZR4s vs my PLII before Veil:

you put the radar antenna behind the grill. The grill is not blocking the radar antenna? and you still get good reception?

I originally mounted the antenna behind the grille and Ka band reception sucked. Then I mounted the antenna through the grille and radar detection is now awesome.

Sort of. The Bel STi-R uses the same radar antenna, but lacks the ZR4s and GPS capabilities of the 9500ci.

I rather go with the Blinder for my jamming needs, I wonder when the new Blinder is coming out.

I wish they use the same voice alerts. Sti-r uses a male voice while the 9500ci uses a female voice. I prefer the female off course.

I caution you to wait for one or more of the many laser jammer testing groups around the country to put some of the new Blinder retail units to the test, before you purchase one. The only unit tested so far was provided by the manufacturer and it is very common for problems with the initial release of new laser jammers. So, my advice is to wait a bit on the new Blinders and see how they do.

My favorite voice alert is the "James Earl Jones" like voice of the SRX!

To get the best performance out of your ci, mount the antenna with a clear view of the road.

I have mine mounted next to the driver's fog light. It picks up great (and is behind a plastic cover). I had it mounted in the grille at first, but it didn't pick up well when cars were in front of me. Now it seems to get signals that go under cars.

Mounting it low by the bumper foglights can get you more signal than mounting it by the grill?

Even the Veil guys BMW has it mounted in the foglight area and he gets better signals ( saw a youtube installation). I guess signals can go through under the cars.
