Default "Service required" = not bluffing

One of my all time favorite radar detectors is broken.

Yes, my Rev. 5, S7-platform, X-50 "blue" will be going in for repair soon.

A few days ago the "service required" message came up and I just reset it....

Today, on a small drive I passed two K-band false locations with nothing but silence. I pulled into the parking lot of the second and pointed the RD right at the K-band door sensor.....

    Nothing.

Oh well, it is almost 5 years old...

Any one want to guess the repair bill?

$69, but that price includes a smart cord, 4 suction cups, and a mount. Not bad at all.

Well, if I can get another 4+ years for $70, it's worth it to me.

If you decide not to fix it you could always use it as a decoy in VA

I got one two years ago, but I chalked it up to heat.

It has performed very well between then and the "service required" message.
