    Default RLC Location Database Question

Yesterday I encountered a new Red Light Camera that my up-to-date database updated 9500ix did not alert me... there were flashing road work signs alerting of the RLC some 100 yards before the intersection... I'll see if this week's database update will include the particular location. For the last 8 months of owning ix this is the first one I noticed. Up until now, I have to say, I've been rather impressed by how promptly the new locations data were updated.

This encounter made me curious though... how are the location data collected/ entered into the database?

I got my first ever Speed Trap alert this weekend. The only one I got on a 1,000 mile round trip to NorCal and back ... 405 South around Pico Blvd in LA. The arrow was pointing 600 feet to the left so I never saw the actual speed trap. I shoulda stopped and checked it out ... maybe someone who is in the area a lot can research it ...

Meh, it's just another annoyance of driving the 405 through LA though. RLC alerts on the freeway were driving me INSANE too ... and I though OC was bad for RLC alerts on the freeway.

Ha, yeah I'd shoot myself in the face before I used a V1 around here again.

The point is Escort should fix the RLC alerts so they don't go off on the freeways.

Just got this week's database update and IL is not one of the states listed. Go figure... so I guess they do miss some sometimes....

Btw I think I noticed at least one speed trap alert that weren't one of my marked location.

I also was wondering why I sometimes at my marked Speed Trap location I get repeated "speed trap" alert announcements... I was thinking it might be one of the database speed trap location... or another possibility is if signal is present/detected at a marked or a database speed trap location the announcement repeats 3 times(?).... Anyone know?

Hopefully this week's California update has a few norcal speed traps. I'll load it up today and go trap hunting.
