Default Autolearn Lockout on 2 Passes?

Today I was driving through Kokomo, IN. On the way north I had one hot spot with multiple K band hits.

On my way back through, when I got to the hot spot it stored the location.

This was my first time through with my 9500ix so thought this was a little odd. I thought that 3 times was the minimum for an autolearn hit to be stored.

Turn off autolearn. It's not a very effective feature IMO. I tried a 9500ix and noticed that it was locking out signals sporadically and actually locked out a LEO running K band around the corner.

I've had that happen a couple of times. I thought it was odd also. I love autolearn. It's not perfect, but I find it works pretty well.

I have had lockouts occur after only one pass.

Good luck getting Escort to tell you whether it's a bug or a feature.

I agree, enjoying extra peace and quiet is worth it. So far, ever lockout has been identifiable as a non-threat.

AutoLearn will lock a location after approximately ~3 passes. It can be 2 or even 4-5, it depends on the encounter.

AutoLearn is pretty sophisticated and adjusts its learning according to you driving and the false it encounters.

    Thanks for the help CJR238.

Yesterday I did the sync/backup of the 9500ix, and I was suprised by how many it had already stored. I was expecting 2 or 3, but it had actually stored around 10. It will be interesting to see how many it has after the first month.

So far I've been really happy with the detector...it beats the pants off my old Whistler.

I also upgraded to 1.1, hopefully that helps with the ramp up of K band becasue frankly, hearing it go full bore all at once scares the crap out of me!
