Default Found out what was wronf with x50

Hey everyone, just a litte update to my problem with the x50 cutting in and out with K band and it appearing to be instant on.

I noticed that when I mounted my detector in the middle of the windshield that I did not have a problem, that I was detecting cops with K band at LEAST 20 seconds away. But when I would mount high, it was cutting the K band signals in and out and it was giving me crappy reaction time. Well I found out the problem.

Basically my detector was pointed about 15 degrees upward. That is it. Barely upward toward the sky and when I leveled it out, I am getting minute warnings again. This proves to show that mounting is the most important aspect of having a detector!

Tunnel vision is my friend, usually doesnt pick up false alerts.... I was under the impression that the x50 fell out of tune, which I found out that wasnt the case.

my windsheild is at the same angle all the way down. I have mounted my detector about 3-4 inches down to see what it does. I will say it has seen a difference. Let me test it out a lil longer and give you the results

Interesting. I'll have to check mine. I think my range dropped after I went from a windshield to a visor mount configuration. Now where'd I put my level?
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

exactly. ive seen that, then ive seen it mounted with the degrees oof the windshield, pointing right down at the hood. but of course, you only see people with cheap cobras, whistlers, and unidens doing this.

Same here. The angle of the RD changes when mounted up high from a lower mounting position. Seems to me that the angle is the same on the lower and upper windshield but i have to adjust it everytime i move it it from lower to upper position or vice versa.
