I recently went on a trip from NJ to PA. And while I was trying out my newly purchased Escort Passport X50 Blue, On the return trip, I was doing 80 on route 78 East, and I ran into what seems like a "ghost" police car sitting in the center emergency U-turn Lane. It was facing directly towards the oncoming traffic on 78-East. Needless to say, it was late night and there was no traffic. When I did notice his car as I passed it doing 80MPH, I nearly had a heart attack since my Passport didn't even beep for at least 3 miles in advance. So, after a few minutes of heavy heart pounding sweats, I finally realized there was no one inside that car? Is this common? because I have never encountered state trooper vehicles like that parked in NJ without someone at least using X-Band? Any ideas on why they do that?
On a side note: On the trip to PA, I received a instant FULL alert on K-band, and I thought it was one of those hazard signs in PA which also use K-Band. But as soon as the FULL Alert came, it disappeared, I slowed down and to my surprise I noticed a LEO Sitting parked in the grass on the right lane using Instant On K-Band. I think the Passport saved me an expensive ticket right there.
P.S. I paid $185 shipped for the Escort Passport X50 Blue is that a good price??
