I don't have any sales figures, just common sense. But anyone I've ever known who did not have a passion / hobby for radar detectors are just fine driving around with a cobra thinking, they have the best.
There for I think Belscorts low end line is irrelevant. Now with Circuit City out the picture Bel has lost all of it's major retail presence in the United States.
On the other hand Best Buy carries the Escort line, and I think we all know the dumb asses at Best Buy sell what they have been told, or just make **** up on the fly. Either way they sell the most expensive.
I say cut out all the duplicates, use that savings to hire someone who's capable of making the perfect detector.
I would hope if Bell is phased out Escort will at least continue to market the "low ball" end, i.e. the V940 - your M4 RX65/V965 with just the bells and not the whistles.
I've had an RX65 and a V940, both M4, for a few years. I've A-B'd them (not side-by-side, but separate runs on the same traps) and there's no diff in performance.
