Default 9500IX on K band. Any good?

What's K band detection like on the IX? Reason i ask is that's what's used mainly over here. I've got a V1 that has just come back from VR after a tune up and upgrade in softwere yet I'm getting totally **** detection! I don't know what's up with It but i'm considering trying an IX and comparing the 2 and selling which ever I like least. Auto learn seems a good feature to have too.

The 9500ix's K band sensitivity is nowhere near as good as your V1. Your only hope for better detection of these signs would be an Escort 9500ci, a Bel STi-R(which has just been discontinued and can be had for cheap), or an Escort RedLine(released in about a week or so).

Those things are hard to detect. RD users over here are also getting poor detection of these "bad boys" in Arizona. Nothing is going to perform significantly better against these cameras, than your V1 is.

If you can give a 9500ix a try and keep the V1 go ahead. The 9500ix is very cool with GPS and all its features. However The V1 will have a 15% advantage on K band unless you have a weaker V1.

I say give it a try and see what you think. Unless you can buy a 9500ci, than that's a whole different story, its the king of kings.

The 9500ix will not be good enough against these super weak K band cameras.

True, But the GPS will/can mark those locations even if its not in the database. I also didn't see any reference to K band cameras in his post?

He's in the UK, which means laser and cameras.

Cheers guys. I have the GPS mirror which alerts me to the fixed cameras but I'm gauging the RD's performance on these and don't feel confident In my V1 I liked the look of the ix as the GPS truelock seems a really neat feature. I find the falses desensitize me of a real alert but I've only encountered falses around town and on my daily commute so perhaps on the highway I'll respond differently.

I don't have an ix to test but thought with the redline coming out a few will be getting rid of there ix so i could pick one up cheap. I've been looking at the redline but it doen't have Ku band from what I can see so would be no good for me. Shame really as If It lives up to all the hype It will be a nice tool!

The only bands used over here are Ku and K and obviously laser so I'll need something to detect all them...

If I were you, I would try to find an STi-R. They're cheap right now, because they've been discontinued, they have everything you need including Ku band and people have had success mounting them vertically against these low-powered K band sources. Also, you could run the STi-R and the V1 at the same time.

I spent a fair amount of cash upgrading my countermeasures last month so need to recoupe some funds first. The STI-R seems to be around 360 gbp which Is abit more than I wanted to pay for an RD anyway.

Does the STI-R detect Ku DJ? I was looking at the STI awhile back (before I bought the V1) and noticed that didn't detect It.
