Default Can someone or Escprt answer this?

Why is it that the dim feature on the Escort models go from dimmest to brightest when you are selecting a setting?

I find this very annoying when you are driving into the evening, and when you want to dim it you have to cycle through maximum brightness to achieve this. I am sure there are a lot more users of radardetectors that drive into the night rather then driving into the morning. So wouldnt it make sense for the detector to get dimmer with each press, rather then brighter?

I've wondered about this too; my Bel 955 has it right while the 8500 has the backwards logic.

Good idea. however im sure some would complain the opposite if it was this way.

    But I am thinking

the number of people complain < the people that would like the change

    I'm fine with it...???

I run it on brightest during the day and when it is night, I hit it once and it is in dark mode, hit it again and it is on the lowest brightness setting.

Hit it two more times the next morning for the brightest setting again.

How about an auto mode like the V1 has and you don't have to "hit it" at all??

9500 series has auto as well, but this isnt easily implemented

Why? All that's needed is a light sensor and firmware to read the sensor and adjust the display brightness. Unless you mean as an add-on. The V1 has had it for years, some newer Escorts have it as well.

I am trying to keep it realistic for escort to think about this to themselves.

its just a change in the firmware, and it makes more sense overall

It doesn't make any sense to me. I think it is logical for the brightness to go from dark, to minimum to medium to maximum. If you are at Max bright for daytime use and it is getting darker it only takes a couple of button presses to change to your preferred setting.
