Default Store that sells suction cups that fit the X50?

Anybody know a store that sells the correct size of suction cup to fit the X50's mount? Tried looking in a couple places (CVS and Home Depot) but couldn't find anything to fit. Going on a long road trip soon so some help would be apprecieated. I don't have time to order them through the mail.

Try an Arts & Crafts type store b/c they usually have several sizes. I have even used one (not for X50) from a universal detector mount that I got at either Walmart or Radio Shack. Good Luck

I bought some from Home Depot - maybe you were looking in the wrong spot. Any hardware store should have them. Mine were suction cups with S hooks on them (probably used to hang outdoor thermometers or bird-seed baskets).

The cups for my X50 were starting to fall off and all that, but I found a solution that worked on another thread somewhere on here (the idea was submitted by Roy himself, so I trusted it).

If you take the cups, apply a layer of vaseline (or any sort of generic product of that nature) to the top (the side that sticks to the glass) of them, and then rub off the excess with a napkin or something, then they should stick again (tested on my bathroom mirror right after I wiped the stuff off, and it worked like a charm)... I dont know about your cases, but it worked for me when mine failed

I get calls all the time from folks with bad suction cups, some on detectors that are over 10 years old and don't have the funds to buy a new detector and the cups are not even made for their unit anymore. Tell them this trick and they have all told me that it works!

so you rub it off so the cups are dry or you leave a little on there still?
