    Default Escort Defender Database

Has anyone updated the defender database since they added speed traps? I have and I'm yet to get an alert for a speed trap.

    Has anyone had an alert?

The defender database has been out since the March 9th, 2009 update.

I've only had one speed trap alert so far, 600 feet off the 405 South near Pico Blvd for anyone who lives in the area. I've been up the coast from border to border in California and that's the only one I've ever encountered.

I had a defender database speed trap save on my way through VA, LEO's were shooting I/O. I was very happy.

This is what it does for a speed trap:

Holy crap that is awesome! Too bad (or is it good!) that I'm yet to get a speed trap notification.

where were you looking, at the onset of the alert ?

do we get a glimpse of the COP, off to the right ?

the video highlights an arrow on the display

If i had an STi i would of used it, but also may have gotten a ticket because of it.
I had to flick the power cord out every time i got an alert just in case it was a LEO (thank god my ix doesn’t false much) and unplug it with heavy traffic. Though it was a pain, and not terribly safe to do where RD's are illegal it did the job.

Do the best you can with what you got. Your lucky to have both.

The video was for people who haven’t seen speed trap notifications with there 9500ix. Example of what it does.

The VA save was similar but on the highway around a curve in the median I/O occasionally.

I wonder how they determine if a area is a speed trap. This is just my guess of a few possibilities. Anybody know for sure?

    a. Take our data we upload and use it to see if a high # of people have marked the area as a speedtrap.

    b. Get ticket data that shows a area is a speed trap.
