side mirror adjust trips laser alert??

Hi everyone. like i said, every so often adjusting the side mirrors on my car(lexus is300) triggers the laser alert on mly passport 9500i.
has this happened to anyone else?why? its a little annoying. aside from that, it has worked very effectively. thanx for any input!
