    Default "Service Required"

I got a "Service Required" message about two weeks ago and no self cal. Should I worry about it. It works fine since and its the only time Ive seen it. Should I try to get bel/escort to look at it?

I just cannot believe all these bells/escorts that have the service required/self cal message---just seems rediculous that so many of these units seems to do it within a year? I know its a warning telling you to get it looked at but wow!

I have the V-1 and I know I dont have the service required messages like you do--so how would us V-1 owners know if ours needed serviceing? Hmmm----Just a question

Most V1 owners I've met/talked to have a pretty good sense for their detector and when something's not right with it.

For the record, I've had my X50 for close to 4 months now without a single problem.

Don't say that! I take unbelievable care of that thing--never plug it in until the car is turned on, never turn it on until after it's plugged in, and vice versa for turning it off and unplugging it, I always leave it under the driver's seat in its case if I'm not at home--if I am, it comes inside with me (which is part of why I leave the backup in the glove box--I have forgotten it in the past  ).

If that X50 dies, I just might go mad. I don't have the Best Buy discount anymore.

I had this same warning too. I also noticed that my car battery was getting weak. Changed the battery and the problem went away.

    Hope this helps.
