Saw a couple of Escort 9500ci for about a thousand dollars. They say new and sealed. Did they have a older model of this detector ever?

They do not have any warranty regardless what the seller say. My 9500CI had to be returned 2 times in 6 months. The rear shifter never alerted to the Ultralyte and the radar head had water in it after 6 months.
Hmm, either way, fixing something is bound to be cheaper than $600. I paid $920 for mine on eBay 12-2008.
I tested it a little bit:

The radar was 90º to the road, hence the low numbers, but it depicts a worst case scenario.
Surprisingly the ZR4s were able to provide JTG performance even with a front plate and no other counter measures (plate shield, veil, etc...).
The rear is useless for jamming, partially because of my install (lip above plate) and partially because it's a ZR4, but it does alert.
Did you test the rear jammer against the Ultralyte? Many have reported that the rear does not warn and jam against it. I know because mine did not work during testing until i RMA it.
Neither did (at the moment) Cbr's. Still don't think it does, though it doesn't matter, since I have all 3 heads up front, so the fronts alert to it.
I don't have a clue, and it doesn't honestly matter. As I said before, the rear jammer is useless. The front two manage to JTG somehow on a PLII, and I've always been fine with the PLIII ISP uses.
ZR4 looks pretty decent in that test.
Go for it. Then just get a warranty from square trade.
