8500 X50 - 3.9 Mile 34.7 Ka Alert on I-57! Amazing
Had to verify this one too on Google Earth!
NB I-57 in the south burbs of Chicago.
KA Alert just before Cicero (IL-50). Stayed low till just after 159th, then pegged just before 147th. ISP running C/O KA with Laser for SB I-57 traffic.
Total range: 3.9 Miles! 8500 X50 is amazing on 34.7 Ka (I'm getting the hang of the freq now)....
Complete conifdence in the 8500 X50. Makes me not want to upgrade to a V1, Redline, STI, or 9500....

I'm guessing the terrain was relatively flat. 3.9 miles is freaking awesome. Never had that big of a save on the v1.

Is this a S7 or M4 platform X50? I've had some 1+ mile Ka saves with my S7, but the terrain around here precludes much of anything beyond that.

a big X2 on that. I have not gotten many alerts over 1 mile with any detector I've owned.

They're uncommon, I've seen 4+ mile K and almost 4 mile Q/T Ka with my Vector but these were in rural parts of Nebraska.. miles and miles of nothing. The longest save in the city I've had was nearly a 3 mile c/o Ka on a hilly but straight road, and the LEO was in a super duty f-series truck so a little easier for the RD to pick out higher up.

This area is pretty straight. The Cicero overpass is just past a curve, and the road has its slight ups and downs, but nothing serious.
It came back from escort a few wks ago w/ rev 6.5

That is some excellent range! I'll usually get a 2.5 to 3 mile on 34.7 when I'm heading to the beach while traveling through Delaware (thanks to the DSP running c/o).

Some of you guys are getting any where from 2.5 miles to 3.9 miles, that is excellant. You cannot ask for anything better out of your RD.
