First post fellas so be easy..
I have had detector for a month. Seems to work really well here on Long Island, NY with Ka band. Still have quite a few of X/K band falses that I am locking out.
The radar detector is mounted level, high and to left of RVM.
Anyways, I took my first trip to Maryland (bro's wedding) last weekend. Was expecting to get some LEO encounters en route in New Jersey on the NJ turpike. Didn't get much.
However, in Maryland, I had a MSP trooper following me from about a 1/2 mile back and the Ku band alert came up. I forgot the frequency that it displayed but I was kind of dumbfounded because I thought that band was used in Europe. ???
Anyways... is it my detector or could it have been a Ku band reading?
My brother is a trooper in Maryland and he says he hasn't heard of Ku band radar guns on the force. Also saw this referencing different bands in Md. from another post.
