Default Caution Sending Redline back for a Refund

I have had a Redline now for a few weeks. Ordered it early on. I got a Service Required message a few days ago and a Rep. at the factory told me to try to do a Factory Reset, which I did. Now, I have received the Service Required message today several more times. I called and I spoke to a Rep. today and asked her about getting a replacement. She spoke to her supervisor and informed me that I would have to send it back get a credit for it and then place a new order and wait in the "BACK" of the line with everybody else, as they did not have any and they do not hold any back for returns or customer service issues. I guess Escort is more interested in sales and their bottom line than their customers and their service issues. I offered to send it in for repair but she recommended against it because it was new and she said I should have a new unit. But she said they could have it repaired if I wanted too, but she said it could take a while and was unsure of how long. Therefore I would be without a detector for up to a month or longer if I got it replaced. So I am forced to send it back for a REFUND!!
Further more, I sent back a Whistler to get this Redline and the Whistler I sent back picked up better than the Redline does on QT. Kind of embarrassing. Maybe they need to take a look at it and see how Whistler does it so they can fix all their products with their QT issues. I do not see how they can market a V1 killer and it does so poorly on QT.
I originally ordered the Redline for my wife. I ordered a V1 two days ago for me and I have already received it and it workks great!!! However, my wife saw the V1 and gave me back the Redline. She loved the arrows and rear antenna on the V1. I ordered another V1 today to replace my Redline and I will have it tomorrow.
I have tested them both with my own K Radar Gun and also against know Radars in town and found the difference in the two as far as picking up Radar signals was so little, if any, it was not worth the difference in price anyway. I did many test with my Radar Gun and both were about the same in every test. The V1 smoked the Redline in QT my 3 year + old Whistler did too LoL : thats pretty bad".
The V1 has the arrows and the front and rear antennas and I personally found those to be more important than the voice alerts and self dimming light feature of the Redline because I saw no difference in the way they picked up Radar.
I had High High hopes for the Escort Redline and even signed up to their Forum to follow its progress, but insteed I was "Highly" disappointed.

Well we knew this already... Escort only cares about sales, and money they can get from them. They do not care about the consumer at all... they will say anything to make you bite, and once you have given them your money... pshhhh.

I wonder if they count units re-turned and then re-ordered as a separate sale (2x)? Meaning even if a unit is returned, it still goes in the sale-category to boost their figures, and like this case a re-order goes as a sale? Likely so... duh.

At any rate if I am to take your word on all this, its a bummer... and thanks for the heads up... certainly sounds like something Escort would do in their incalculable stupidity, put you to the tail-end of the line, cause they already have you on the hook.

To be honest, you seem like a forum member who made a new-name to post the topic, because you know so much about Q/T, GOL results, Service Reqs etc (since we are some of the only people in the industry who know of this stuff)... but you might just be a person whom has lurked for a long time.

Sucks, but I guess stuff happens with new products. You’ll love the V1 anyway, its very cool.

Gotta love the V1, it does what its suppose to do flawlessly.

As Mike Valentine would say: "Once you lived with the arrows you wonder how you ever lived without them."

Man after my wife saw the arrows on the V1 and the Dual antennas and she saw that she could see where the radar was coming from, she took it from me. I looked at mine and hers and then at mine and hers and then I new I had made the wrong decision in ordering a new, untested detector and not waiting and doing some reading "after" some other people had sent theirs back.
I am now hooked on V1.
Maybe Escort will get their stuff together and the Redline will be that great kill all it may can be, but until I read about it and everybody agrees I will stick with the V1.

It doesn't have all the newest technology but it uses what is has to the best of its abilities. Its what separates it from the rest. Alright, no more zombie comments from me.

Haha I cant wait to get married so that my wife will take my things away from me. Looks like the the consensus so far is that the Redline is an overpriced piece of poop

Thanks for everyones posts! I have witnessed my Redline also "NOT" alert to 35.5 and also DSR 2X Stalker I/O. Redline is good at C/O ONLY. If that is your threat, buy yourself one. If I/O quick, or Q/T any form is a threat, Do Not buy one, as you will regret it 10 fold, when you get a citation, and Mr. Redline pleads the 5th and remains quiet.
