First..... PLEASE, No Bashing on this one. Just wanted to share a little something. I let the wife use the Redline today. When she got home, I asked her how she liked it. She said she loved the voice alerts and the "Knight Rider" type display, and wanted to keep it for herself. She said it was fairly quiet all day but did alert to door openers and the usual false alert areas as her old 8500 did that she used to have till someone stole it out of her car in 2007. She said she encountered several officers running radar in the Plano, Richardson, and McKinney Texas area today and she said it alerted just fine and in plenty of time. I asked her if she noticed anything "Not Normal" with the detector, and She said "no". Bear in mind that this woman has not had a detector for that long and knows absolutely nothing about the Redline issues/defects that this detector has. Yet she is very happy with it.
My whole point here is that the "Normal" population out there buying a detector, whether it being this defective Redline or any other for that matter, would have absolutely no idea of these issues. Now myself, I noticed the flaws or defects right away, having been experienced in using detectors for quite sometime. Basically the average person could have bought mine or Cbr's and would not have even known one way or another, and would have been very happy with a "defective" product. Hopefully a company like Escort will check this issue out with a fine tooth comb, so to speak, and if this problem is on all Redlines, make it right and recall them, even to the very happy customers who have no idea.
