As a stand alone unit, the SC55 comes with a power cord.

If I combine the SC55 with a RD, can the SC55 get power from the RD, or do you still need to plug it in separately?

I'm not a fan of placing it on top of the RD either.

I think they are just trying to show the size of it compared to the x50.? I have a 9500i. I can upgrade to the 9500ix for 129.95 or buy this.

The 9500i has the gps but not RLC. I dont see the Sc55 being any better than the Cheetah c50 for 99.00 if used as a stand alone.

My C50 is alot better than my 9500ix against RLC's around Chicago. The voice alerts are better and you don't get alot of false alerts like you do with the 9500ix. Also it seems like Cheetah has alot better speedtrap database, I have gotten alerts in MI, IL, and IN for speedtraps. I have never once gotten a speedtrap alert from the 9500ix.

    Other Detectors I use: 8500x50 (S7), RX-65(M4)
CB: Uniden 520 + Lil Will
    GPS: TomTom + Trapster
    Radio Shack Pro-107
    Radio Shack Pro-106
    Laser Jammers: Blinder M-47 +Veil G4
    Cheetah C50

I heard there was a recent update to the 9500ix. I know that the 9500ix used radius alerts to cameras but I thought they changed it to being directional some escort fanboy was telling me.

You sure your 9500ix is the most uptodate?

This is great. though im not too familiar with the Cheetah this can certainly be something to add to a V1 to make it more acceptable to me.
The “cruise alert” feature minimizes audible alerts under your predetermined speed and that alone is nice.
Is the Cheetah cheaper/have more features?

Edit: looks like the SC55 is cheaper than the C100, and much better than the C50 with the same charge for updates.
Voice alerts on the SC55 sound much better too.
