Inside the Detector Numbers...

Hey guys, my friend just purchased a new X50 red. I asked if i could open it up (and after he said no) I did it anyway. I read the numbers on his detector, and it ends w/ a letter "L". Mine, when I opened it, ends with a letter "K". I'm guessing since i bought mine a year ago, mine was produced a while back. I was hoping the GOL tested radar could tell us what his last letter was on the inside of the X50? Sethy, I remember you had a post regarding POP not falsing as much on a newer X50... you should open them up and see the #'s listed inside, and the letter at the end. I'm guessing Belscort is changing their newer X50 radar detectors w/ a different software or maybe even a hardware tweak. Anyway, If you guys want, open up your X50's and list on this post the letter at the end of the numbers. It looks like... XXXXXL or XXXXXK or something liek that. K later guys.

You can just check the software Revision of your X50 when you power it up. Already a sticky on this.

Yeah but that's software... this would be hardware no?

Might just be a serial...

I just opened up my X50 and mine is a K. But what is noticed is there is a K on the antenna on the left too. Could be they changed something with the antenna? I bought mine 2 months ago.

I figured while I had it apart I would take a snap shot of what I mean by the letter on the left.

Maybe a number that represents what production run it is, so if they have problems with a specific production run they can isolate it. Just a guess..

Yea, but since sethy had different performances w/ his 2 detectors, just wondeirng if it may have been different. Maybe a software change on the REV 5 or a hardware tweak?
