Escort 9500i constant X band with new radio - HELP

This seems to be a great forum. I bought a Escort 9500i about 1.5 years ago and have loved it ever since. Been thinking of the new IX, but havent really spent much time looking at differences.

Anyway - I just installed this in my 2010 Corvette and had a Kenwood 7140 GPS with XM module in the car.

Since this installation, my X-band has been constantly on. I have had to lock out the signal about every 10 miles.

The signal seems to start when the radio powers on. The installer doesnt know what would cause this disturbance. Once it stopped when I hooked up my iPod, but I think that really helps, it could be a coincidence.

It sounds like you have one of the first 9500i's which would receive interference from satellite radios. We can solve this problem. Please call our customer service department at 800-543-1608 between 8am-6pm Eastern time Mon-Fri.

I also have a Corvette with XM and I do not get any interference with my new ix.

That's great service! I just received my 9500ix Monday. Tried it out today. I love it! I ran the same route that I run generally. I tried using a Valentine one for a few weeks and the false alarms drove me crazy. This ix starts to give me a false alarm from some of the same locations the V1 did. But in this case it beeps a couple of times and goes to mute. I'm leaving it in factory mode and I would expect it will lock out the ones that I know are coming from CVS, Walmart, etc. after several passes.

It was a very pleasant trip from home and back. I did get one real alert ... in plenty of time to see the local.

I'm looking forward to taking some road trips with the Escort.

I almost gave up getting a detector after all the noise the Valentine made. I really appreciate the quiet of the 9500ix.
