Post The Escort Redline. Can any detector be worth 5 bill's?

The escort Redline in my opinion shed's zero traces of new technology. Now I'm sure i'm mistaken in minor way's, and i'm more than sure I shall be corrected. Which is great, absolutely great correct me if i'm wrong then.

The Escort redline offers nothing that the Beltronics STi Driver didn't offer. Immunity to RDD's.

With this comes a Dual antenna/horn design which STi also has.

They both have a 280 segment led display.

They both are DSP digital Signal Processing.

Both have the same exact start and end scanning sequencing.

So My great question is, with the 9500i being such a brutal flop compared to the X50 even in sensitivity. Why oh WHY would one even take the 5 bill plunge on a Escort redline unless they received a massive deal? When the STi Driver is now a proven asset to the enthusist and speeding underground that I call Radar Detector.net.

I Guess what i'm saying is. With the 9500i being a flop, and Belscort countlessly coming out with new versions of "persay" Old or "Already conceived" technology. What is the point in such a massive plunge? It is getting a tad rediculous really. 1,600 dollar's for a Escort 9500CI? Wow? 500 dollars for a Redline? What ever happened to 330.00 top notch radar detectors? Like the X50? I mean yes you're allegedly paying for the undetecablity, which equates to R&D, and Part's labor and cost. Although goodness gracious. When half the part's im seeing on my chip boards are made in china the hardware to complete such a conversion can't cost this great amount's of mula.

    Lastly IN conclusion:

The way they keep busting out with new rev. numbers constantly and new models lead's me to beleive that BelScort is rather leading us like sheep with Bold new Graphics, and case design, to purchase, "What they call" the "Next best goat." aka Greatest of all time. I mean look at Escort's bold ad's in the NMA monthly magazine, and how they brag that if you, "don't anti up" you're going to get a ticket. First off how would they know that? Unless they sold the competitions equipment, or had a hand in that market? Lastly, how so when the technology your simply perfecting may gain me what 1 tenth of a mile IF that. Is 1 tenth of a mile really worth another 250 dollar's to you? It's not to me.

This thread is a bomb waiting to go off.

I heard a couple reports about the Redline saying it was a "dash mounted 9500ci". So far, it isn't looking that way. I'd wait until a couple RD tests with the Redline are done before saying it isn't worth it. For all we know, the Redline has the potential to be a budget 9500ci which would be great.

If "This thread is a bomb waiting to go off." then why hasn't the Moderator who is obviously monitoring the thread locked it? Rather than make comments like "Duck and cover!". Little knowledge is to be gained from starting a Flame War.

The only part of the O.P's post I don't really agree with is the 9500i being a flop. The 9500's series has been one of Escorts best selling RD's of all time. It made RD's useful in cities and places with photo enforcement. The Redline is alot like the STi, it's just manufactured to higher sensitivity standards than the STi was.

Supposedly, the Redline is slightly more sensitive than the STi Driver.
