Escort windshield mount question
Has anyone found a mount for a Redline that would allow it to be adjusted left or right? I would like to mount mine in front of the driver, rather than the middle. With the curvature of the windshield, the stock one won't work there. I have searched for a aftermarket mount that would work but haven't found anything. If not, has anyone done a modification that would work? You would think that Escort would make one, but guess not.

Re: Escort windshield mount question
Assuming that the Redline comes with the same mount as the 9500 series, you should have no problem bending it to mount to the side. I've had mine on the side for years.
Other than that their are a couple of dashboard mounts that will do the trick. Also see the thread about the new single cup mount. That one won't work (I've tried it) but there is info about other mounts in that thread.

What Givme said....just put a little horizontal twist in the stock mount.

Do you want a windshield mount that adjusts left or right? Or a dash mount?
For a dash mount, you could fabricate a mount. Get some kind of piece of metal or pastic that the RD could be mounted to with velcro. Drill a hole in the center of that. Then get a small block of wood. Using a flathead woodscrew and two washers, put one washer on the screw, put it through the hole, put another washer on and screw the piece to the center of the wood. Use velcro to mount the block of wood to the dash. Use the velcro to mount the RD and there you go.
You might be able to use the same concept with the suction cup windshield mount. Use a longer metal or plastic sheet. Drill a hole in the end of that and through the part of the windshield mount that normally goes into the RD. Screw the piece to the mount and then use velcro to mount the RD on the piece screwed to the suction cup mount.
Just a couple of thoughts that might work.
Do you have a Redline? If so, how do you like it?

I thought that's what I said.
