Safe to turn off X and K bands in NY and LI?

i been using the 9500ix for a while now and notice that All the alerts for X and K bands are false alerts. and Also notice that when i get Ka alert 95% sure there is a cop waiting ahead.

so is it safe to turn off X and K bands for NY and Long Island Driving?


i haven't been to this forum for a while so i'm just wondering whether Escort solve the auto lock feature? is it safe to turn on the true lock feature now? i been locking false alerts manually and tired of it.

X, most likely
K, NO...a lot of cops still use K band, so I would keep it on.

Most states it OK to turn X band off, but I would never turn K band off in any state.

If you have yet to see any X or K band, it is definitely safe to turn on autolearn.

X2, K band is still used quite often in Westchester and up north.

X2, low risk areas AutoLearn works quite well, it may even work better than manually locking out in low risk areas.

I once saw NYPD use X band on the Clearview Expressway. I couldn't believe it!!!

I have not seen X band in a while and when I did that was only from a few small towns upstate. Its still possible they have X band around but not too likely.

My small town had x way back about 8 years ago but the troopers gave them old Stalkers from decommissioned cars and now they have 34.7 - C/O all day and night.

K band however is alive and well in NY and most likely will be for a while to come. I saw a trooper back a few months ago in a van of all vehicles using K band and he had a customer. Some of the locals and Sheriff Deputies still use K band a lot around here.
