    Default Redline over the hill

They just installed 2 new K-band speed signs in my neighborhood, which is typical residential single-family tract homes. They are on one road, spaced about a half mile apart. The road starts out flat, then descends down a hill about 100 feet or so before bottoming out. They literally put these up about 3 days ago, so I got to play a little with the Redline.

Approaching from a distance I pick up sign #1 about a half mile out, typical of the performance of Redline in traffic and K-band in residential areas. The impressive part is when the "bogey counter" (Bar graph in Spec mode) displays the second K-band sign. This occurs about 100 yards before the first sign, or a half mile from the second sign. The descent down the hill does not start for more than a quarter mile away. The Redline of course goes to full alert as I pass sign #1, then drops but continues a new ramp up as I approach sign #2. This 'over the hill' thing is killer!

Anyway, I guess the news about Redline being ultra sensitive is old news. btw - I always run in highway mode. The only weak spot is that the presence of a second source can only be discovered by viewing the graph data, or perhaps running with expert meter showing the different frequencies. Would be nice if the Redline announced 'multiple signals detected' when the second, overlapping alert is encountered.

I'm going to try to put a vid together later....

Redline is a very good detector, I like mine the more and more I use it. I got done with a road trip coast to coast and back and the performance was phenomenal. Had a few saves (one in-particular) over at Flagstaff AZ w/a photo speed van.

I agree the Redline is a great performer, Escort does need an alert to let you know that multiple signals were encountered, other than the display thats hard to see. thanks for the report.

Glad to see another "long hauler" here.

I live in SF Bay Area but working in Utah, so I've done the Utah to California run about 30 times in the past 18 months. I now know every curve and every hill on I-80 west of Salt Lake. The Redline is perfect for the desert. Now, if only I could afford that Ferrari....

I hear ya about the "Long Hauler" I have traveled that same stretch of I-80 from CAli to Utah a few times and agree the Redline is a solid detector for that drive. Last time I went through there was a quite a bit of construction through Nevada, kinda slowed things down, hopefully next time I go through there (maybe end of May) it will be done, but I highly doubt it.

I know what you mean - the Nevada road repair was annoying as hell. Some places down to 1 lane for up to 10 miles - and on top of that, half the time they were not even working on that stretch - and the other lane was drivable. They got most of it re-paved, and for winter they were done. I think they start back up in June.

Nevada Highway Patrol mostly sets up radar near towns, and for some reason Battle Mountain (of all places) is a regular hangout. About 50% of my trips I run into radar in and around that town.
