Just trying to understand my equipment as much as possible. Strengths and weaknesses.
I understand that some members swear by the arrows on the V1. I also understand the counter is that whatever direction the signal comes from, if it's strong, why would you continue speeding whether it's coming from ahead or behind. Etc, etc, etc. I read those posts.
Since this is a custom install, I started thinking about why it didn't have a rear radar detector (at this price point I ruled out cost factor as we've already sunk enough $$ to bolster our economy).
I also understand that rear radar shot reflections are picked up by the front detector.
Out of curiosity, I did a search of this forum and google for an explanation of why the 9500ci doesn't have a rear detector. I didn't come up with a specific post addressing this question; although, I did find a review comparing the 9500ci (which, unfortunately, to my knowledge did not provide readings of rear radar shots at the 9500ci).
Is the benefit of the rear detector so insignificant that running the additional detector isn't worth the effort?
Or is it because most cars, unlike my M3, don't have a grill or location that justifies adding this as a feature to the 9500ci? Stealthiness...
Enquiring minds would like to know? If there is already a thread addressing this topic, please point me to it.
Thanks in advance...
