    Default Detector Tools problem

Ok, I have four laptops. Three are Vista, two Ultimate, one Basic, one 64bit, two 32bit. The other is XP. I cannot use Detector tools on any of the Vistas. It always says "no detector connected", and the USB Human Interface Device NEVER installs correctly.

However, on the XP it runs perfectly.

How do I get this to run on my Vista machines?

I was going to upgrade to Windows 7, but if Vista doesn't work, I don't know.

Works fine for me with Windows 7, 64-bit. Also worked with Vista 64-bit.

Works on all my computers including my Vista Laptop.
I do recall first time doing it on my Vista Laptop that it didn't work. But when I tried the other USB ports it works fine. I don't know why the one USB port does not work for my 9500ix while that same USB port works for everything else (, wireless mouse, camera's, printer, scanner, external hard drive etc).
Try another USB port and see what it does. Maybe re-install Detector Tools

I have used every usb port on all 3 computers, I have installed and re-installed numerous times, just can't get it to work. My 9500i or ix won't even go into usb mode when hooked up to the Vistas.

I don't mean this to be (or sound) like a smart a$$ question, but are you powering the ix from a 12V source while trying to connect to the laptops?

Sounds like your Vista isn't installing the USB driver for it to recognize and run. You may have to install it manually.

My new Vista laptop worked fine, just took a bit longer than normal.

I also found a post on the Escort Forum and was able to get my 9500i into USB mode, still nothing. Detector Tools always says "No Detector Connected".

On my XP it is a simple process.....
