    Default Escort's Trade-In program?

"Trade In Your Old Detector and Save!

For a limited time only you are eligible to receive up to an $80 rebate."

Do they give you $80 for any detector or only $80 if you have a "good" detector? How much would they give me if I traded in an old POS Cobra as opposed to me trading in an original Passport that only detects X and K band?

From what I've read a $10 eBay detector will suffice for the $80 rebate.

That's what I thought but the, "up to an $80 rebate" threw me off a little.

Maybe they'll only give you like $40 for a box of parts from smashing the non-working RD up against a wall?

I sent in an under $10 detector (including shipping from an eBay seller!) that was probably 20 years old to them, and got my $80 rebate.

They give $10 for V1's everything else is $80.

Escorts wording always leaves them a back door incase of error, "up to" is a great way to cover all bases.
Some could assume they would get $80 triad but they want to buy a suction cup and that would fall under the "up to".

I got $80 for the 1991 vintage Unidung I found in my tool shed.

They've had the trade-in program for a while now. It used to be, you'd get the full $80 if you traded in an older Escort model, and the amount was less ($30 I think) for other models. Then last summer/fall they changed it to $80 for anything (the "cash for clunkers").

Maybe they're changing the wording in preparation for another change down the road. I have to wonder how many people buy $30 Crapras at Walmart and trade them in.

I am considering giving them a POS X and K band only Cobra that I stumbled across that was probably my older sister's back in the day.

Now, do I want the "raw" Redline or the "quiet" 9500ix....

I know what to expect from a V1 so maybe I will give the Redline a try.

Jazzy and a Redline? Next thing you will be posting official Craig Peterson links. Time to take your meds Jazzy

No really In all honesty I have an old passport x/k band from the 80's I was thinking of trading in . 500+tax is a lot but 80 bucks back doesn't make it so painful.

I don't think you could except anything less than a RedLine, its a hot V1 without arrows and Spec mode.

However the 9500ix if you can deal with the quiet to falses and appreciate the alerts to immanent threats the 9500ix is a great unit.
