Thread: Q/T ?

  1. #1

    Default Q/T ?

Ok so I was driving on N May Ave heading toward The Village in Oklahoma

I was about 2 miles from the city and I got a quick 2 sec burst of KA

I then adjust my speed and drive through the Village

I see the LEO on the side near a MC Donalds

I then get a full alert KA

Do you think this was Q/T

    What defines Q/T VS IO

    I have a 9500i

    Thanks

If it was quick trigger, you would have heard nothing from most Belscorts. It was probably instant-on because you actually got an alert.

QT is a shot less than a second and Belscorts generally miss around .5 second shots. So if he held it down for 1.2 seconds you would be alerted to .7 of the total 1.2 seconds he held down the trigger.

Imagine if he held it down for .6 seconds and you unit only alerted after .5 seconds. Now that would be a quick and brief alert of .1 second.

I traded my less than a year old V1 because of the constant noise

I like the 9500i so it was a good trade

how can we find out if OKC and surrounding use Q/T

    Thanks

Get a ticket by radar without you RD going off.

That's not one of the big QT states that i know of. However it would be best to ask a resident that knows.

I don't think you will have a problem with QT anyway. Its really not a every day thing for most.

So is Q/T going to be the norm put RD out of commision

Or is it going to be like a slow POP rollout

QT is not a normal trained way of using radar and in most states the LEO is required to have some tracking history of the person speeding.
That doesn’t mean they wont/cant use it, who’s really going to debate a cop in the end.

I would put QT & POP in the same category, the difference is QT can be used in LEO gorilla warfare with any good radar gun.

Glad to see that you are enjoying the 9500i. At first I wasn't liking the v1 . . . But once I figured the auto mute settings, it is great. In all likelyhood I will probably buy another 9500i, but just because its a great unit, and I want it for my collection.

In all honesty I think the AutoMute settings in the V1 are more risky than an Escort getting hit with Q/T.
