Question so what is the newsiest software version out today?

I have Escort 8500 X50 "BLUE"

QKLX5M4 ver 6.1

Just got an email today from ESCORT for check up and software upgrade..

Is this worth it or wait

I have 6.1 on my X50 and I think the detector is about 2 years old. I'd be seriously suprised if escort was still releasing firmware for the X50s, what with their entire 9500 line to worry about.

So is it safe to say that there is NO real software upgrade for the x50?

I'm all new to this.

A good friend told me to get this x50 and i did and it SAVE me 3 tickets so far

The software upgrade includes the TSR software which is used for the K band traffic sensors. They also go through the detector to be sure everything is within design parameters. If you do this be sure you include a note requesting new front and rear lenses and top and bottom shells. You will basically have a new detector. There is also a 6 month warranty included. Hope this helps.

There is a thread (s) somewhere (here) about TSR. From what I know, it is a k band derived traffic flow monitoring system that tracks traffic speed for slowdowns, stoppages etc. It is very annoying for rd users so belscort developed this TSR software to ignore this system. Only issue is that it significantly delays the rd's response to k band radar. I live in PA which is k band exclusively so there is no way I'm getting that stuff installed in my rd.

TsR will only help you if you live in an area where there traffic cones on the highways that send a k band every few mins

if you don't have them you don't need it

I call them they told me that all there new x50 have the TSR.

I'm going to update it do to my location in NYC.
