    Default 8500 vs. 8500x50

Looking at getting one of these units, which one do you guys recommend? Live in NV where pop is present however i have not once encountered it since living here. Predominantly encounter 33.8 and some 35.5. All help is greatly appreciated.

X2. It's a completely different detector from the newer X50's.

It really depends on where your radar sources are located. If you see a lot of off axis, an 8500 or a X50 (rev 5 or below) might be better for you. In either case, if you do driving in areas with almost exclusively MPH Ka units (33.8 and 35.5) then you might consider turning POP mode on, since even though it will probsbly not offer reliable pop detector, it will improve reaction time to I/O and C/O MPH radar units at the cost of performance against Stalker and Kustom Ka units. I have an X50 rev 6.1, and I love it. However, some people swear by the older X50s (rev 5 and below) Also, it should be noted that while the X50 rev 5 and the 8500 are practically the same unit, the plain 8500 has no POP mode.
