Question switching from sti driver to Redline

1. Is it worth upgrading from Sti Driver to redline. I feel the Redline offers superior range on K band which is what the O.P.P use.

2. I have heard early production redlines had a software glitch ? How can I check this before I buy a redline?

Oh by the way I have 2 sti drivers right now. One has the 33.8 fix, the other has the ramp up fix. I wanted to swap the one with 33.8 fix first.

No, you send it in if you feel it isn't performing correctly or if you get a "Service Required" message on the Redline.

So what was the glitch redline users were getting. And I guess the safe way to approach this would be running both my sti and redline until I run into all radar bands to make sure everything is running right.

Hey, I switched from the STi Driver to the Redline for the reasons stated in your post. I have no regrets at all. The Redline is by far, much better at K band then the STi Driver. Don't get me wrong, the STi is a great Radar Detector, but I do a lot of highway driving, and the Redline is great at picking off the OPP with their K band guns. As for the glitch, you can check the production of the unit by looking at the last 4 numbers after the serial. The Redline I ordered in January had a production week of 5109. 51 being the second last week of 2009. You should be good to go if you order a Redline now. Those initial batches that shipped with the glitch, I believe, have been corrected.

Yeah but escort will not ship to you if you are in Ontario right? So I guess the only place I can pick up a redline would be Ebay ? Could they be sitting on old stock or should I still be asking for a serial to see what production batch the unit is? So any batch later than you serial should be ok then right?
