Default Getting a Redline this weekend

I have ordered a Redline right from the factory. I have heard of the software glitch for the first batch made. So I am sure I will avoid that. But are the redline's known for poor Instant on performance? Scary if that is true because O.P.P are using that more and more from what I see around my area. Actually more times than not they use Instant on.

I am upgrading from a window mounted Sti Driver would everybody agree the redline is better than the sti? Some people have commented on this already I just would like a resounding yes or no on this.

Poor quick trigger instant on performance — same as all Bels/Escorts — but that's not the same thing as properly used instant on.

Hey, I made the switch too, I do notice a much better difference on K Band. You won't regret it. Unfortunately the QT problem is on all Belscorts. The V1 has the best detection on that, but it's not an option for Ontario drivers.

Sorry guys not to sound uneducated but what is quick trigger how does it differ from I/O? Is it safe to say the redline trades blows with the V1 as the best windshield mounted detector?

Q/T is when the officer flips his radar on and off in less than a half a second, and is able to register the vehicles (target cars speed). Since he turns it on and off so quickly, the Belscorts and some other radar detectors do not alert to it. The V1 has a quick enough processor to alert to Q/T.

Bottom line, the Redline is the most sensitive windshield rd you can buy, but it could miss Q/T shots from a LEO. But IMO you will have more saves from a more sensitive Redline and further alert distance than any other windshield mount.
If you are going to get a speeding ticket, then Instant on or Q/T radar will likely capture you no matter what unit you are using due to the officer keeping his radar off for several minutes until you pop over the hill and he blast you.

Regarding Q/T or I/O, that is 100% true with no traffic or rabbit ahead, but.....
I've been hoping that the Redline with its added sensitivity will give me an edge maybe with I/O. Not impressed so far. I live in a rural area but drove up in the "city" yesterday where I used to live.
The scary/crazy thing about my test drive of the Redline yesterday was that I got a bunch of 200 yard or less, full blast Ka alerts with no previous warnings. I/O? Maybe someone could talk me into believing that a couple could have been, but on the 8 out of 9 encounters they were again within 200 yards, a couple at 300 feet or less moving LEO's in the opposite lane.
None were anything you could call "saves" or ones that I would have had blues and reds in my back window as all of them were 3 to 5 lane interstate with cement dividers and choked traffic down to 10 or more mph below the speed limit. I'm pretty sure that most if not all the LEO's had left thier Stalkers running, just because they leave them on ALL the time to begin with and weren't sampling traffic.

Features are kinda cool though. I like having the scanning dot back from several years ago. The female voice alerts, including the "multiple signals" and "powering down" voice notification is kinda nifty, but so far it doesn't outweigh the arrows and I'm not real impressed thus far with the Ka sensitivity either.
K band detections on known falses...........The Redline seems to have much better sensitivity than my 3.872 V1 but again, this is comparing the two to known falses and not a comparison of a real life LEO encounter so far.

I had to read your post 3 times for it to sink into my head that YOU were the one writing it. I can't believe you got a Redline after being the ultimate resident Redline/Ecort basher for so long. I was actually starting to think yours was a puppet screenname of another ongoing heavy duty basher for tag teaming purposes.

But now you have my attention and I'm listening real hard since you're actually one of very few who has both the 3.872 and Redline to do a one on one hard core matchup and evaluation.

In this post you stated that you weren't all that impressed with the I/O capabilities of the Redline so far and the lack of arrows.
I can fully understand the arrow addiction and how I'd feel with the lack of them
as I spun my head around like Robocop trying to figure out what direction the signal was coming from like days of old. What I would like is to know what band frequency was being used and miss the feature.

I think the I/O is too early to tell since you live in the boonies and local LEOs typically don't use it and the one time around the city could have been a myriad
of reasons why or why not you got the impressions you did. The main reason could just be learning the idiocyncrasies of how the RL reacts, how quickly, and when compared to the V1 or other units. Identifying I/O or Q/T isn't the easiest thing to begin with until it becomes obvious after discovering the LEO.

From everything I've read or watched on youtube, it does seem like the RL has a decent edge over the V1 on KA band and especially off axis on all bands.

You evened out your report by stating the RL does seem to have much better sensitivity than the V1 on known falses. That having been said, I tend to think the RL will also pick up and be more sensitive to normal length I/O shots from a greater distance than a V1. As far as Q/T goes, it'll lose to the V1 but if we're speeding excessively it won't matter...it's still a ticket with anything and hoping for a reflection and that arguement is real slim of happening.

Keep up the reports and hopefully you can put up some videos comparing the two.

I look forward to it and sit with baited breath for your next post...however it turns out. Keep 'em coming.

Let us no what you think of your Redline and how it performs.

I wouldn't say the Redlines are known for poor I/O performance at all if these have any influence on your thinking:
