No. The 4500 won't protect you. I suggest you look into getting a more up to date detector.

It's old and won't be much use other than as a conversation piece. Escort will let you trade it in for a new one so I recommend you take advantage of that!

They were a great detector in their day, the early to mid 1990s. I'd put a properly tuned Passport 4500 up against any non-Escort or V1 detector available today. These were manually tuned as many non-Escort detectors are still today and I highly doubt that it has held it's tuning for this long.

We no longer service this detector so I recommend upgrading to a modern quality detector.

You have got to be kidding me, so you think the 4500 would keep up with the V1...... your current RDs have a hard time with that.

I would assume that the 4600 is better than the 4500 and this is how it did in testing.

Notice how it smoked the V1 back in the day and how its Ka band detection is on fire.

OH ya ?????since the ci Smokes the v1 99% of the time and the ix Rang is off 0.01 of a mile in testing I have done vs my ix to a v1

Then again a V1 will alert you to any false around......ill stick with the ix

You are entitled to keep your "false free" Escort detector as it doesn't alert to quick trigger pulls and cops using K band in a "TrueLocked" area. Wow, it sure is quiet, as the police officer lowers your pants and sticks the ticket right into your anus.

I do not think that is what he was saying........

I read it as he would put the detector up against any detector not made by Bel and V1 today. I thnk he was saying the V1 and Bels made today should be better.
